Tomorrow is World Theatre Day, which has been celebrated by ITI Centres, ITI Cooperating Members, theatre professionals, theatre organizations, theatre universities and theatre enthusiasts since 1962.
There are various national and international theatre events that are held annually all over the world to celebrate the day, such as World Theatre Day Message, which features a figure of world stature to share their reflections on the theme of Theatre and a Culture of Peace.
The aim of World Theatre Day is to promote all kinds of theatre across the world and to make people aware of the value of theatre whilst enjoying it and sharing the experience with others.
World Theatre Day Message
This year World Theatre Day is held in Paris, at the UNESCO hall on the 27th March. The day will include 5 message authors, one from each of the 5 different continents of the world, who discuss the value and impact of theatre and they will also deliver and/or perform – which will provide theatrical insight about the state of global theatre.
