English Summer courses in the UK are brilliant for young students who are learning English and want to have a great summer experience, with loads of activities on offer for students to choose from, there are always fun adventures and educational opportunities to be had at Twin over the summer. To make sure students have the best time possible at Twin we offer a range of programmes so there is something for everyone, with four special programmes on offer alongside our standard activity programme. In this blog we are going to take a look at our standard activity programme, which is made up of two parts: education, and activities.
The educational side to the summer schools programme may seem like the boring side, but at Twin we strive to provide our students with fun and interactive lessons that make learning English an enjoyable experience for all ability levels. To make this possible we have our very own short language course which has been designed by Twin, specifically for young students, and is accredited by the British Council. On our Summer English courses students will spend 15 hours per week learning English with our qualified teachers in classes with other students from all over the world. Activities in the classroom are always designed for students to learn in a fun and interesting way with a real push on getting students to talk in English as much as possible. This helps to build their confidence and expand their vocabulary as much as possible while in England, whether they are having a discussion about life in England or learning about the places they are going to be visiting on their activity programme.
When students are not in lessons, they will be doing activities with our dedicated activity leaders who are there to make sure all of our students are having a great time while at Summer School. The programme is made up of activities which are done at school, and sightseeing excursions to famous attractions such as Oxford, Cambride, Central London and many other places. When doing activities in the centre students will have the choice of a wide range of sports such as football (soccer), swimming, volleyball, basketball, tennis, and badminton. This gives students a chance to make new friends through team sports, and really pushes them to communicate in English to work as a team and win. Swimming is also very popular with students with many centres having swimming pools on campus it’s an ideal activity, and everyone can take part! There are also in centre activities which are more focused on arts, crafts and drama, meaning that students who don’t want to take part in sports still have fun, and can meet other students who also enjoy being creative.
When students are not doing in centre activities, they will be going on fun excursions to famous locations and attractions in the UK. These excursions are possibly the best time for students to make new friends and practice their English, as they are more relaxed and students are also given free time to explore museums or do some souvenir shopping with their new friends. Excursions are also great for students as they get to see famous places in the UK and go to attractions such as the London Eye, Madame Tussauds, and many other places.
Students coming to a Twin summer centre will have an amazing time making new friends, visiting famous attractions, and doing all sorts of different activities. On top of that they will learn the English language whilst having fun, giving them a summer to remember! So take a look at our different summer schools and programme. You won’t be disappointed!
