Learning another language can be very difficult and the truth is you need all the help you can get when learning English. This is article is here to help junior English learners find out how they can learn in a fun and efficient way.

Twin Summer Centres hosts 7 summer English schools across the south of England, and we specialise in making learning English fun, interactive and accessible to juniors learning the language. We strongly believe that ensuring children have fun is the best way to teach, and making things interactive encourages juniors to practice. It’s also easy for children to make new friends at our summer centres, through socialising with others who are in the same situation as them; being away from their home country and living and learning in England for the summer.

Learn Another Language

So here are some tips to help you learn English…

Radio Web
  1. English radio stations and podcasts on iTunes – Radio stations have always been a good way of keeping your English up-to-date; just by listening to a native English speaker you can pick up every day language. There are podcasts available in English covering a variety of topics, for example politics, entertainment, news and comedy. Podcasts are recordings you can listen to on your phone, tablet or computer.
  2. Videos on YouTube – Popular videos on YouTube are a great way of learning English, plus, they’re free and fun. If you watch YouTube videos you’re able to see people’s expressions and get to know some common words and phrases.
  3. Talk & sing to yourself in English – Listen to songs in English and use the songs and words you have heard to practice speaking; it might sound crazy, but this allows you to keep your English fresh in your mind!
  4. Pay attention to billboards, advertisements, signs, magazines and newspapers – Reading signs and advertisements that you see every day is a fantastic way of learning about places, news, various things that interest you, useful phrases and how words are used for different purposes.
  5. Watch English TV – TV has proved to be a very useful method of learning English, and there are many different TV channels and shows to suit all interests. TV can demonstrate every aspect of the language and, for juniors, watching CBBC, cartoons, children’s soaps and The Simpsons, for example, can be great fun. Soap operas are known to be the best but in our opinion all TV shows help.
